MFM and I hosted the first annual Game of Snow at Bear Mountain. Shit was dope. As usual Gooner took home the cash. In the end he went head to head with Max Wienberger and won himself $1500.
This was the lay-out.
Here’s me and Goon strapping in.
Bear had me and Marco write in this wet cement after the contest…
ODB-Shaw in cement.
After any good contest is the after Party. MFM spun down at the log cabin.
MFM is not the only one with a snow bus. Peep mine. Duct tape and all. Still have to get it logo’ed up but it is looking fresh. Thats Matt MFM’s right hand man fronting on my ride. Matt’s just hating cuz my ride is dope. O.D.B.-Shaw coming to a mountain near you in the dopest Snow bus. haha… just Kidding. B-Shaw.
We are always in search of new spots to shred. This season Toronto was blessed with ton’s of snow. Rolling hills throughout this large city of 2.5 million is the perfect recipe for urban snowboarding. Be prepared to drive if you head to Toronto as the city is very spread out and finding jibs if you do not know the area or have a guide can be hard. You could spend months in this city and find new jibs every day. We headed to T-dot with Lucas Magoon, Deadlung, Bradshaw and Derek Dennison.
Day one was kind of rough. Navigating such a large city on top of rain made for a tough day. We found this cool set of bleachers to session but the wet weather made shooting really hard. Gooner, B-Shaw, Lung and our local friend John Rusk trying to stay dry.
Rain Drops keep falling on my lense! Look how pissed Cole is. Even under the cover of the building the wind kept getting water all over our camera lenses.
Derek Dennison Hits up the bleachers in the pouring rain.
The Three Stooges- B-Shaw, Goon and Lung out side of the Hotel on a rainy night.
The next day the rain finally stopped and John Rusk took us to his hometown Berry to hit this cool pillar jib under a bridge. Check out b-shaws new gear, Graffiti Baseball jacket and Paint Splatter pants. The new T9 gear is looking fresh.
Lung and Dennison
Thats me at the shoot rocking the Baseball Jacket and the Denim Pants.
We stopped by a cool shop in the area called Hustler. When we rolled up to the shop there was this wierd bum lurking in the doorway. Oh wait that’s just Magoon.
Everyone at the shop was super cool. If you are in Toronto and need to find some Technine stuff stop by Hustler.
The Crew in front of the shop.
After being in the car all day, jibbing and stopping by a shop we all started to get pretty beat. With some sun in the forecast we figured we should just hit the hotel bar and chill out for the night. Here is a shot of Bradshaw in his room his T is so big it looks like a night shirt.
Gooner was acting up as usual so B-shaw put him in a headlock.
In an effort to get everyone to mellow out so we could get up early and work Cole broke it up and put B-shaw in a choke hold. Gooner jumped in on B-Shaw’s side so Cole had to pop them booth in a headlock.
The next day we got back on the grind and hit the streets.
Lung setting up a kinked rail.
John Rusk and our rep Mark strang (shown above) took us all over town showing us cool spots to hit up. The next two days were sunny and perfect for shooting. We hit a long down rail in a park, a couple of kinks in the city and Gooner did this cool car tow-in ollie. Toronto is real dope and I have a feeling we will be back next winter. E-Stone

On our last day of the trip we checked out of our place in the mountains and headed to Milan. We had a shop visit as well as a party set up in the city. Being that we had to be at the airport at 5:30 our plan was to pull a nighter in Milan.
Our guides and good friends Mike and Alo took us to this shop Margot deep in the city of Milan. The store was dope and the guys running it were cool as hell. If you are ever in Milan be sure to swing by.
Some of the crew working at the shop.
The Shop owner Oscar had it set up so we had an open tab at market next store. Cody Dresser enjoying a cold one with the shop keeper.
The crew in back of the shop with Oscar(right) and his dog.
We saw this cool graffiti piece on the way to the bar. It is a memorial piece with insane detail.
We met up with a local snowboard crew called the Garbage Gang. They took us to a bar where they were playing FODT’s Cold World on a big screen and made sure we all had drink tickets.

We met this homie in the bar. It was his Birthday. I was stoked to see him wearing some classic T9 Gear. Happy Birthday Man.
Some crazy guy sold us these glasses for 7 Euros. Cole also bought a matching ring. (ha-ha)
Gooner bought a light saber from the guy who sold us the glasses.
Messier had to body slam him after he attacked him with it.
Milan is insane. People just hang out and Party in the streets. You can bring your drinks from one bar to another and leave the glass anywhere you want. Some people just hang in the streets with their own beer or a bottle of wine and never even go into the bars.
After a long night it was time to head to the airport. Jake took control of the rental van and drove though some insane fog getting us to the airport just in time to catch our flights home. The full Italty story with all the action shots from the trip will be in the first issue of snowboarder mag. Look for it on news stands this fall.

We all landed a bit travel weary and headed up to the mountains. It turned out every hotel in town was booked for the weekend so we all had to crash at a snowboarder hostel. We had to pack everyone into two bed rooms with bunk beds and the place had 1 bath room for 15 people. It was a bit crazy but we were all stoked to be in Italy.
Derek, Tommi and Jake chilling in the 9 seater Fiat we rented to get around in.
On our first day our guides took us just over the boarder of France to a small mountain town. The first view as you roll into town was this insane castle. In front of the castle is a snowboard park. It had a few small box’s, a jump and a quarter pipe. Within the castle is a full on village. The place was nuts.
We headed past the town and deep into the alps. Our Writer Cody Dresser, Cole Taylor and Myself in front of some huge Mountains.
After a sick day of shooting and Tommi locking the first shot of the trip we headed back to Italy. We found this dope restaurant in town where we met Rocco. Rocco did not speak a word of english but was real stoked to hang out with us. He made us the best food we have ever had and forced us all to do shots of really strong Italian liquor after we ate.

Cole, Messier and Gooner after their first shot of Italian Grappa courtesy of Rocco.
After dinner we showed Rocco the Familia teaser and he was stoked. He asked us to come back for dinner the next couple of nights so he could serve us the best food in italy.
The next Day it was back on the grind. This is our good friend Mike. He was able to track us down a generator so we could shoot both day and night. Mike and a Local Photographer named Alo took us to this dope area that was a water treatment plant with all sorts of abandoned buildings. There was so many things to hit in this one area that we had to spend several days hanging out getting it all done. After the second day hanging out at the spot we started calling it Camp Familia. All the riders got ill shots in this zone, it was off the hook.
Lunch at Camp Familia.
In Italy they seem to drink wine all the time. Derek D having a bit of vino for lunch. You know how it goes “When in Rome…” That’s it for now, more out takes from the trip coming soon. For the action you will have to wait till the story drops in snowboarder magazine. E-Stone
